Our Advisory Council
Founded in 1999, the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center’s Advisory Council is comprised of volunteers who have demonstrated an interest and commitment to the Cancer Center and the fight against cancer. Members include leaders from all areas of professional endeavor, some of whom are patients, donors, or related friends of the Kimmel Cancer Center. Members are asked to serve two-year, renewable terms and membership is limited to 40 individuals, but may expand.
The responsibilities of the Advisory Council members include, but are not limited to:
- assisting the Kimmel Cancer Center with securing private philanthropic gifts,
- committing to a personal contribution,
- and acting as an advisor to the Director on a broad range of issues including: strategic decision-making, fund-raising initiatives, government relations, patient program and long-range planning.
